# Art Authentication

**Each auction lot comes with the following curation:**

* [**Blockchain-Powered Authentication:** Innovative auction authentication guarantees are established using decentralized and transparent methods. Web3 technologies like blockchain and smart contracts enhance trust, transparency, and security.](#user-content-fn-1)[^1]
* **Automated by Smart Contracts:** Auction smart contracts are self-executing agreements with auction terms encoded directly into the code. They automate the entire auction process, eliminating the need for third-party intervention and ensuring all participants comply with predefined rules. These smart contracts encompass regulations related to authentication, guarantees, payments, artists' royalties, and refunds.
* **Immutable Provenance Tracking:** Each auction lot includes an immutable blockchain record detailing the item's ownership and provenance history. This transparency is meticulously verified during the curation of the auction.
* **Immutable ownership** - The auction curation guarantees that the artwork is securely stored within a decentralized repository, ensuring its preservation and protection from any alterations in perpetuity.
